UK's first Army Recovery Centre opens
The first "Army Recovery Centre" has just been officially opened at the Scottish service charity Erskine's Home in Edinburgh. The Recovery Centre is a dedicated 12-bed wing of the 8.6million pound Erskine Home and is the result of a partnership between the Army, veterans' charity Erskine, and Help for Heroes which together are providing accommodation and support for soldiers wounded or injured on duty
British Army Team Dives In The Desert
The British Army has revealed that it has used a team of Army scuba divers in Afghanistan, to deny weapons and communications equipment to the enemy. A crack team of around 18 specialist Army divers from 3-8 Engineer Regiment are deployed with the Joint Force Engineers and in their most recent task, five divers were used to recover weapons and sensitive equipment after a Viking vehicle that came under contact from Taliban fighters and rolled into one of the many irrigation canals in the Babaji area
