Over 100 members of our Armed Forces have been recognised for their battlefield bravery and courage in the latest Operational Honours and Awards
In one incident Colour Sgt Tony Bramham from 5 Rifles led his men in a daring counter attack on an insurgent position, that ultimately transformed an area of Babaji known as Devil's Doorstep, and was Mentioned in Dispatches

19 Light Brigade mark their drawdown from the British Army's Order of Battle with a parade and drumhead Service in Northern Ireland
Representatives from all of the Brigade's regiments took part in the commemoration including the CO of 40 Regiment Royal Artillery

ISAF say they'll assess whether security measures around Camp Bastion in Afghanistan are good enough
The comments follow the insurgent attack on the base on Friday where thousands of UK troops are based

The MOD has named three soldiers who were killed elsewhere in Afghanistan
Lance Corporal Duane Groom from 1st Battalion the Grenadier Guards was killed on Friday when his vehicle struck an IED in the Nahr-e-Saraj District of Helmand Province.  Sgt Gareth Thursby and Private Thomas Wroe were both shot on Saturday by a man wearing an Afghan Local Police uniform

The MOD has revealed that front line combat medics are being put to the test in a new overseas training exercise, which aims to make sure they are not only first rate trauma medics but can also think and act like fighting troops when they're on patrol in Afghanistan

Army Reserves are the first to test out the Army's next-generation helicopter, the Wildcat
It was the Army's first opportunity to work with the helicopter, which is due in service in 2014. The Government announced in July that in the future, the Army will have a greater reliance on reserve soldiers integrating with the regular Army. The role of 6 Regiment Army Air Corps (Volunteers) is to provide ground crew for Apache and Lynx helicopters on exercise and operations

The Irish Guards provided a 12 strong honour guard that greeted Britain's Athletes as they arrived at the Queen Victoria Memorial stage and were accompanied by the Band of the Coldstream Guards

Tributes have been paid to Guardsman Karl Whittle from 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards
He died at Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday where he was being treated for gunshot wounds sustained last month at a checkpoint in Afghanistan
