The Defence Secretary Promises Merlins, To British Soldiers In Afghanistan, By The End Of The Year

After six years of service in Iraq, the last Merlin helicopters have just returned to RAF Benson in Oxfordshire, but have to undergo refits and crew have to undertake extra training, before the aircraft can be deployed to theatre

Service To Remember Iraq

It's been announced that a service of remembrance to mark the end of combat operations in Iraq, is to be held at St Paul's Cathedral in London, on Friday the 9th of October 2009.
The service will be attended by Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh and it will be an opportunity to honour the members of the UK forces and civil servants who served in Iraq and to remember those who gave their lives over the the course of the six-year operation

Army Twins Retire - After 100 years Of Service

Majors Jimmie and Ron James joined the Army on the same day in 1959, and were promoted on the same day through their careers (for all but one rank) culminating in them both serving as Regimental Sergeants Major, and then being commissioned
