The Ministry Of Defence Confirms That The British Soldier Who Was Killed In Afghanistan On Saturday, Was Private Jason George Williams from 2nd Battalion The Mercian Regiment

He died following an explosion just east of Gereshk in Helmand Province, while he was securing the site of an earlier attack, which had killed 3 members of the Afghan National Army

The MOD Also Confirms The Identities Of The 3 Members Of The Parachute Regiment Who Died In Afghanistan On Thursday

Corporal Kevin Mulligan, Lance Corporal Dale Thomas Hopkins and Private Kyle Adams were killed while taking part in a routine security patrol alongside Afghan National Security Forces to the north of Lashkar Gah - The Jackal vehicle they were travelling in was hit by an explosion, followed by a small arms fire attack
