Fife and Birmingham strengthen their support for the Armed Forces
Representatives from both areas recently met up with representatives of the Armed Forces to sign their respective Armed Forces Community Covenant. The important new agreements will build on existing good relations between the Armed Forces and public sector organisations in both areas and follow other agreements signed in communities up and down the country
Scots troops in Afghanistan praise their welfare facilities
The guys don't get much time off and work extremely hard during their operations, so it's obviously extremely important that when they do get some R and R, they're able to have access to facilities that we back at home, take for granted

The Prime Minister encourages MPs to help find recruits for the UK's Reserve Forces
He's asked the Members of Parliament to do what they can in their constituencies to encourage more people to join the UK's Reserve Forces. Speaking in the House Of Commons, David Cameron said many more recruits were needed to fulfil the quota that will be required for the increase in size of the reserves

It wants to find new information and exhibits for its "War Story" exhibition, to collect material relating to the war in Afghanistan and tell the story of Op Herrick from the perspective of British service personnel and their families

The Armed Forces are commended for their significant contribution to the Libya operation
In its report on the operation, the House of Commons Defence Select Committee said it commended the UK's Armed Forces for their significant contribution to the successful conclusion of the Libya operation and the courage, dedication and professionalism with which they undertook that operation, and saved thousands of civilian lives
Prince Harry completes his 18 months training on the Apache Attack Helicopter
He's also been awarded the accolade of best co pilot gunner and he and his course colleagues are now up to the challenge of operating one of the most sophisticated attack helicopters in the world
