Just a day later, Rifleman Daniel Holkam from 3rd Battalion The Rifles died in an explosion caused by a suicide bomber.

The Armed Forces Minister Has Responded To The Verdict Of The Inquest Into The Deaths Of Four Soldiers In Afghanistan

Corporal Sarah Bryant, Lance Corporal Sean Reeve, Lance Corporal Richard Larkin and Private Paul Stout were killed in 2008. Bill Rammell said the Improvised Explosive Device that was planted by insurgents and was responsible for their deaths, was of such as size it would have inflicted considerable damage to any of the vehicles that we had in Afghanistan at the time. Mr Rammell also said that they would look at the serious issues the coroner raised in his verdict and would respond more fully to him and the families of the soldiers.

Tributes Have Been Paid To Two British Soldiers Killed In Afghanistan

Corporal Stephen Thompson from 1st Battalion The Rifles died on Sunday following an explosion 3km South of Sangin. Lance Corporal Tom Keogh from 4 Rifles was killed the same day from a gunshot wound during a small arms fire engagement near Sangin.

Tributes Have Been Paid To Rifleman Jonathon Allott And Rifleman Liam Maughan from 3 Rifles Who Died In Afghanistan

Giving, determined and selfless are the words used to describe Rifleman Jonathon Allott by his Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Nick Kitson. Rifleman Allott was on an operation to set up a new Patrol Base near Sanguin when he died following an explosion.

A credit to his family and the nation was the tribute paid to Rifleman Maughan by Lt Col Nick Kitson. Rifleman Maughan was shot and killed while in a position of over watch, providing protection to his platoon on a patrol bringing security to the local population.
