Soldiers are being warned about the potential risks of using supplements.
Those responsible for Health promotion and Health policy in the Army are warning of the potential risks of using supplements. They say ingredients of some products picked up and used on deployment may be legal in the USA but banned in the UK.

The Recovery Career Service (RCS) is a new joint venture initiative just about to launch.
The aims of the organisation are to provide employment support for those receiving a medical discharge from the Armed Forces.

Her Majesty The Queen has approved the appointment of the next Chief of the Defence Staff.
General Sir Nicholas Houghton GCB CBE ADC Gen will take over from General Sir David Richards GCB CBE DSO ADC Gen in July.

The Afghan population are less reliant on ISAF forces.
WO2 Craig Turner in Afghanistan with the Military Stabilisation Support Group (MSSG) tells Garrison FM that local people are now fending for themselves when it comes to local and district matters.

Service personnel will be protected against any Cypriot bank tax says the Chancellor.
George Osbourne has made it clear that anyone serving in the military or working for the government on the Island will be compensated if affected by Cyprus's proposed bailout levy whilst doing their duty for the UK.

Garrison FM continues its coverage from Afghanistan this week.
As Op' Herrick comes to an end and British troops prepare to leave for home we hear from more soldiers on how their tour has gone and the changes they themselves have witnessed over the months since they were deployed.

Army Radio News - 15 March 2013

Garrison FM has been given an appraisal of the changes that have taken place in parts of Afghanistan.
The Army's radio service has been in the country and spoke to Colour Sergeant Alan Boyle, based at FOB Shawqat. He gave us the big picture on how it was and how it is now in the area.

The results of a study funded by the MOD have been published.
The report which appears in the Lancet investigated the risk of violent offending among UK military personnel deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Army footballers are to take on a team of FA legends this May.
The Army team will be coached by Stuart Pearce and the FA side will be managed by England boss Roy Hodgson.

Garrison FM has been in Afghanistan with British troops.
Today we hear from a Mastiff Commander at FOB Shawqat and get his views on Op' Herrick 17 and the workload they've completed over the past 5 months.

A new training programme and website aimed at improving the financial awareness of service personnel has been launched.
Moneywise has been unveiled by Defence Minister Mark Francois.It includes an innovative money planner, a car cost calculator and credit card forecaster.

Soldiers have been reflecting as their tour of Afghanistan reaches its climax.
British troops currently deployed on Op' Herrick 17 have been talking to Garrison FM abou their recent tour of Helmand Province. Garrison FM's Chris Sturgess travelled to some of the forward operating bases to see for himself the progress made by ISAF Forces.

World War II war heroes who served on the Arctic Convoys and in Bomber Command will begin receiving brand new awards.
Production of the new Arctic Star and Bomber Command Clasp will get underway this week.

Soldiers from 34 Field Hospital, based at Queen Elizabeth Barracks, Strensall, marched through York and were given the Freedom of the City by the Lord Mayor, Councillor Keith Hyman
