The British Combat Mission In Iraq Has Ended

The historic moment has been marked with a ceremony in Basra, which saw the lowering of the flag of 20 Armoured Brigade, the current and last British brigade to serve on Operation TELIC - Prior to the ceremony, a memorial service was held at the Basra Memorial Wall, to remember the British Service personnel and civilians who died since operations began in Iraq in 2003

The MOD Has Confirmed That The British Soldier Who Was Killed In Afghanistan on Tuesday was Lance Sergeant Tobie Fasfous from 1st Battalion The Welsh Guards

He was taking part in a reassurance foot patrol alongside the Afghan National Army in the vicinity of Forward Operating Base Keenan, north east of Gereshk in Helmand province, when he was killed as a result of an explosion

Armed Forces Pension Commutation Rules Change

The MOD has announced that the rules governing the commutation of pension under Armed Forces Pension Scheme 75 have changed. Under the new rules Life or Resettlement Commutation may still be taken, but not both together and election must be made prior to leaving the Service
