Army Radio News - 30 Jan 2013

It's been announced Britain is offering military personnel to West Africa.
The Defence Secretary Philip Hammond announced to Parliament that soldiers are set to deploy to support French forces fighting Islamist Militants in Mali.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Colonel-in-Chief of 4th Battalion The Rifles has visited troops training at their base on Salisbury Plain.
The Duchess was chauffeured around the camp in a Husky protected support vehicle. During the visit she watched as soldiers took part in Mission-Specific exercises. Later the Duchess opened the Officer's mess and chatted to families at the Hub in Ward Barracks.

Help for Heroes have launched their 2013 Collosal Cake Sale.
Tv personality Lorraine Kelly and Chef James Tanner, both Ambassador's for the event, were at Tedworth House in Tidworth for the launch. Last year the event raised over one hundred and fifty thousand pounds with over 700 hundred registered activities taking place
