Soldiers from 1 Scots in Afghanistan are getting ready to celebrate a big occasion in their calendar.
New RSM of 1st Battalion the Royal Regiment of Scotland, WO1 Alan Falconer has been telling Garrison FM about the preparations ahead of this Friday's Burn's Night celebrations that they've arranged for troops in Helmand Province.

Paratroopers have been battling heavy snow and freezing conditions on Exercise Eagles Nest.
Soldiers from 2nd Battalion The Parachute Regiment have been on 2 weeks of training at Otterburn Ranges in Northumbria preparing for their role as the British Army's rapid reaction force.

The Race2Recovery team of severely injured soldiers and volunteers have become the first ever disability team to complete the Dakar Rally, The world's toughest race.
The team, made up of mainly British servicemen along with two US Marines-many of them amputees following injuries sustained in Afghanistan-set out with four vehicles on January 4th. The remaining vehicle, manned by Major Matt O' Hare and Corporal Phillip Gillespie crossed the finish line on Saturday evening January 19th.
