The Foreign Secretary says UK forces will stay in Afghanistan til the job is done
William Hague has told the House of Commons that Britain's position on the timing of troop withdrawal from Afghanistan is unaffected by announcements by any other countries. He was responding to Australia's indication that it will pull its forces out of the country earlier than planned and he was quite catagoric that the UK's forces will remain in the country until their job has been properly completed
Exercise Joint Warrior takes place around the UK
The tri-Service, multinational military exercise, Exercise Joint Warrior has begun around the UK with a total of 8,000 UK and foreign personnel taking part. The exercise provides training for all three UK Armed Services, along with visiting forces from allied nations including the United States, Denmark, Norway, France, Canada, Germany and the Netherlands
