Tributes Have Been Paid To Fours Soldiers Who Died Last Week
Lt John Sanderson from 1 Mercian attached to 1st Battalion The Royal Gurkha Rifles Battlegroup, died on Wednesday in hospital in the UK surrounded by his family. Rifleman Remand Kulung from G Company, 1st Battalion The Mercian Regiment, attached to the Danish Battlegroup died on Thursday from injuries he sustained following the collapse of a Sangar in Afghanistan. On Friday Sapper Darren Foster of 21 Engineer Regiment was shot during a small arms fire. Despite being evacuated by helicopter to the Bastion Role 3 Hospital, he later died from his wounds. In a separate incident on the same day, Sapper Ishwor Gurung, also from 21 Engineer Regiment was killed in action during an attack by insurgents in South West Helmand Province.

Bagging the 1st prize of 10 thousand pounds is Capt Balfour from 1 SG in Catterick. Sgt Robinson from 7 Transport Regiment RLC came second, winning 5 thousand. LCpl Johnson from 21 Signal Regiment Air Support won the third prize of 2 and a half grand.
