An Apache strike kills a Taliban commander
The MOD has revealed that a senior Taliban commander has been killed by an Apache helicopter strike during an operation conducted by British and Afghan soldiers to disrupt activity in an insurgent 'safe haven' in Helmand province.

It was announced in November that Afghan forces were to take lead responsibility for the security of Nad Ali - consequently, the British troops will now take a step back.
