Private Alex Isaac, Private Douglas Halliday and Colour Sergeant Martyn Horton of 1st Battalion The Mercian Regiment, along with Lance Corporal David Ramsden from 1st Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment, were part of a police advisory team and travelling in a two vehicle convoywhen they were killed.

Over The Weekend Towns And Cities Across The UK Celebrated Armed Forces Day

But troops serving in Afghanistan weren't left out of the festivities. Personnel from the Army, Royal Air Force and Royal Navy held events at bases throughout Helmand Province.
