The Home Secretary Announces That All Former Gurkhas Who Have Served In The British Army For At Least 4 Years Are Now Eligible For Settlement In The UK

The policy refers specifically to those Gurkhas who retired before 1 July 1997 - Those who retired after 1 July 1997 are already eligible to apply for settlement under the current rules

The Army Tackles A Service Wide Alcohol Problem

The Army says many service personnel have problems with alcohol, to the extent, that each year, around 700 members of the Armed Forces lose their driving licences due to drink driving

New Sangin Health Centre'

Soldiers from 2 Rifles are working hard to build a new primary health care centre at UK Forward Operating Base Jackson in Sangin, in Northern Helmand Province. The new centre is the result of an expansion of the medical facilities at the FOB and will have seven trained medical staff made up from a mixture of TA and regular Army personnel
